Congratulations to Governor Mead and Governor Gordon!
Now we know why our younger generation is leaving Wyoming.
No wonder our younger Wyoming generation cannot afford anything here…our median household income is DREADFUL.
From 2010-2024, Wyoming’s growth in median household income was the 47th worst in the country (including District of Columbia). If not for DC, Wyoming would have only been the 46th worst…
Wyoming median household income (inflation adjusted) grew from $72,480 in 2010 to $78,680. That is an 8.6% increase.
The average growth across the entire country was 22%. (Wyoming = 8.6%…the rest of the United States = 22%).
It’s hard for your economy to compete for jobs when your median household income growth is so far behind the United States…
Lately, the liberals have been saying my numbers are taken out of ‘context.’ ‘Context’ is the liberals favorite new word.
To ensure there is proper context to my comments above…see this article: https://www.visualcapitalist.com/mapped-income-growth-every-us-state-2010/
According to this article, their data came from the United States Census. I hope the United States Census provides enough context for my liberal colleagues…surely if the data is coming from the United States Census, then the context is right. Right?
When you see the map in this article, take a look at the Wyoming increase vs. the states which border Wyoming…Wyoming is pretty far behind our neighbors…maybe everyone is moving next door?
So…while growth in Wyoming median household income from 2010 to 2024 was 8.6% (inflation adjusted), under Governor Gordon alone (FY19-25) (according to the Wyoming Department of Audit), state of Wyoming revenue grew 34% (inflation adjusted).
An 8.6% increase in median household income across 15 years means Wyoming households have been seeing their median household income increase .6% PER YEAR.
Raise your hand if you live in Wyoming and feel like you cannot afford things…
With a .6% PER YEAR increase in median household income, that may explain why some of you are raising your hand.
Fingers crossed that the liberal Wyoming ‘conservatives’ who created this mess are not re-elected later this year…
Bravo, Governor Mead and Governor Gordon (and our liberal Wyoming ‘conservatives’)! Well done!
